As a volunteer I have found the camaraderie and sense of common cause with fellow volunteers to be a major spirit lifting facet of my life, a source of local identity – selfish pluses of involvement.

W elcome to Green Mountain RSVP! The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is one of the nation’s largest volunteer organizations in the country, engaging more than 400,000 individuals that are age 55 and older. Green Mountain RSVP is part of the Corporation for National and Community Service and is sponsored by the Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging.

Green Mountain RSVP is for everyone 55 and older who wants to contribute their time and energy to positively impact and improve their community. Our program allows its volunteers to utilize their lifetime of experience, skills and interests. RSVP volunteers have a wealth of knowledge and experience that they are able to share within their community.

RSVP is a unique volunteer program. Its flexibility enables people with different kinds of expertise and various skill levels to tackle problems that affect their communities in many ways. Volunteers choose how and where they want to serve. They determine the amount of time they want to give. We offer a personalized, one-on–one interview, we work with individuals to determine their skills and interests and the right opportunity. Once a match is found, volunteers begin to serve for as many hours as their schedule allows from a few hours to 30 or more hours a week.

RSVP exists so that someone like you, with the energy, life experience and knowledge to share, can make a big difference where you are most needed – in your community. Join us today!

The most wonderful folks in my very lonely days to spend time and visit me and put things away.
